Review tips for choosing a story angle

• Background research:

• Brainstorm what makes this year and this school unique where your topic is concerned.

• Talk to people to get a feel for what's important about the topic.

• Identify the best people to interview:

• people who are involved

• Draft some basic questions to start interviews:

• Use open-ended questions to encourage sources to tell stories.

• Focus on people, not events.

• Be prepared to talk to people face-to-face. Do not rely on surveys and questionnaires. completely.
